Emulia is an 8-bit game emulator for Android, published by Bradley Steinfeld.

Why we can say that with confidence

Emulia does not request the Android INTERNET permission. An app without that permission is prevented by the operating system from opening any network connection — this is enforced by Android itself, not by a promise in this document. You can check it: the permission list on the app's Google Play page, or in Settings on your device, shows no network access.

Because the app cannot reach a network, there is no server for your information to be sent to. There isn't one.

What is stored, and where

Everything Emulia keeps stays in the app's own private storage on your device:

• Game files you add yourself. Emulia does not include any games and cannot download any.
• Saved games, save states and battery saves, including their thumbnails.
• Screenshots you choose to take, which are written to your device's own Pictures folder so you can find them in your gallery.
• Your settings — picture options, colour palette, controller mappings, playtime, and which games are on your shelf.

None of this leaves the device. Uninstalling Emulia removes all of it, except for screenshots you have deliberately saved to your gallery.

Data shared with others

None. There are no third-party libraries that collect data, no advertising networks, no analytics providers, and no payment processing.

Permissions Emulia does request

• Reading a file you pick. When you add a game, Android's file picker hands Emulia that single file. Emulia has no general access to your storage.
• USB device access, so a wired controller can be used. Used only for controller input.

Children

Emulia is suitable for children and was written for one. It collects no personal information from anyone, of any age. Because it cannot connect to a network, it cannot transmit a child's information, show advertising, or link to outside content.

Emulia is rated for ages 13 and over on Google Play. That rating reflects the store's own process, not a judgement that the app is unsuitable for younger players — it is the rating an app receives when it does not go through Google's separate Families programme.

Your rights

Because no personal data is collected, there is nothing to request access to, correct, export, or delete from us. The data on your device is yours, under your control, and is removed when you uninstall the app.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this address and the date at the top will change. If a future version of Emulia ever adds a network feature, the “no internet permission” claim will be removed from this policy and from the store listing in the same release that adds it.
